About…
SellCar
Branding:
SellCar | AKA: Sell Car, SellCar.co.uk.

History:
Established by Mark Rogers back in 2007.

Network:
Just has the main head office located at Daleside Road, Nottingham. You can visit them there, but their service is built on sending agents to the customer’s home, workplace etc. It is not made clear of the days/times that reps make visits. The headed office hours are Monday to Friday (9am to 7pm) and Saturdays (10am to 4pm).

Online:
www.sellcar.co.uk.

Owner:
Part of C4-UK Ltd (same organisation).

Profile:
An experienced firm that will be celebrating their 10th year in operation in 2017. Ran a TV ad campaign in 2009 when they were at the time operating from SellCar-UK.com. This was an amusing yet bizarre ad featuring an army of penguins. The clip was uploaded in 2009, but it is headed as 2014 (likely a run-up). Web popularity today isn’t significantly high. They do however have an impressive search engine presence for the key industry terms.

The Process:
Your car must be no older than 8 years old or have driven 80k miles. Its price tag must also be £2000 upwards. If you meet their checklist, you can get started by entering your reg at www.sellcar.co.uk. You’ll have to answer a more thorough set of questions than usual. No instant quote is provided. Quotations are provided when they contact you by phone. If an agreement is made a collection date will be arranged to complete the sale. With more thorough questions posed, they headline a more concise estimate (95% accuracy). You will need to be sure that you are happy to move forward as there are charges enforced when you don’t proceed once agreed.

The Service Fees and Payouts:
No admin or fast funding fees in place, but there are other potential costs. If you digitally accept their Purchase Contract and choose not to go ahead then there is a £25 fee. There is also a £50 charge if you cancel the collection once the Agreed Collection email has been received. Finally, a call out charge of £75 is imposed should the vehicle not be entirely as described in the Purchase Contract (unless an amended price cannot be agreed).
