Privacy

Here you’ll find the privacy policy for www.theywantanycar.co.uk. The purpose here is to inform visitors on the information that we collect on visits and why we are collecting this data.

This project (They Want Any Car) was created in early Feb 2016. In these early stages the content is being developed from the ground up. From the first day we have been tracking analytics and have now started to mix in ads. We’ll discuss each further below.

The usage of cookies here enables us to track. A cookie will be placed on your computer to initially identify and then monitor your ongoing interaction. You can control how cookies function within your browser settings. Blocking is not a good idea since many sites require them such as those that integrate shopping carts. They also help to keep your user names, passwords etc remembered so that you don’t have to re-type them each time you head back to Facebook, Twitter etc.

We use StatCounter to receive our analytics data. This informs us on the activity of our site from one day to the next. We primarily seek to check out our popular pages, top referring sites and total hits. More in-depth info can be analysed, but these core bands are what we are really paying attention to. In collecting this info we can improve our performance. The stats provided help us to look at ways that we can develop for the purpose of improving the experience for our visitors. On the admin front, we can keep track that our server is live and we could for instance pinpoint any troublesome IPs.

Adverts are matched to the content to help guide users to related services. Compensation from ads helps to cover such running costs as content development, domain and hosting fees, paid plugins, promotion etc. Cookies are working as above whereby visits are marked and then followed. We have now added Google AdSense who are the best choice for matching ads. Google uses the Doubleclick DART cookie to serve ads across their Adsense network. You can find further info regarding the DART cookie at Doubleclick as well as opt out options on Google’s Privacy Pages. We will soon also be working with specific companies featured on the site. We’ll only do this with any such service that we can fully vouch for based on the comparison data that we present.

If there are any changes made to the way in which data is tracked here then we’ll quickly update this page to reflect this. If you have any questions on privacy or any general queries then do send a message across. We have attached a form within the Contact area so that you can do this with ease.

Thanks, Admin.
